We recently had the chance to showcase Curation again, this time at the Brilliant Indie Treasures event hosted during Develop: Brighton 2025 and it was so much fun!
Ollie managed to sneak in before doors opened to help with setup with a build that included new NPC animations and some new artefact animations. Just as everything was in place, he got shooed out as the event officially opened — and then realised he hadn’t actually got a ticket to get back in.
So he joined the queue with everyone else (45 minutes long!) and eventually made it inside. The room was already full of devs, students, and indie game fans. Super friendly atmosphere, and loads of people stopped by to check out Curation.
The Event
Brilliant Indie Treasures was a resounding success, with everyone in attendance loving it so much the event was even extended. It was great to see so many familiar faces from past showcases and meet new people who were genuinely excited about indie games.
We had so many people stop by the booth to play Curation, take our promotional materials and share their thoughts — including some publishers who gave us insightful feedback and showed interest in what we’re building.
Gabe forgot an HDMI cable, but huge thanks to the organisers for saving the day with a spare. Then he realised we also didn’t bring a keyboard, so he went to buy one last minute. Moral of the story: don’t assume anything and always bring everything you need.
Feedback Highlights
We got some good feedback on the new auction system, menus, and UX:
- Auction System – Players loved the concept, but some said the timers were too quick, not enough selection, and duplicates were too common.
- Navigation – Quick select/deselect features stood out as super helpful
Meeting Collaborators IRL
Most importantly we had the chance to meet Zeph! An animation student we’ve been working with, here is some of Zeph’s work:

Also we got to showcase some new animations by Charlie

Final Thoughts
Huge thanks to everyone who played, chatted, gave feedback, or just stopped by. We hope to be back again next year! (Hopefully with a HDMI cable and a keyboard this time.)
