On the 12th of this month, we attended GDLX 2025, an independent games expo held at the University of the Creative Arts in Farnham. Leading up to the event, the team put in a lot of work to produce a handful of brand-new features and themes alongside preparing business cards and a poster to display at our booth.
The event was great. The venue was very professional and provided a lot of different areas with different activities to take part in and learn from. I, myself, found lots of enjoyment from talking with others in a similar position to us and playing their games. There were so many games spread out across the 3 showrooms and sadly I didn’t get to try them all, but I enjoyed all of the ones I got my hands on.
Over the course of the event, a large number of attendees tried it out for themselves. We were given a bunch of feedback so if you are reading this and you gave our game a go, maybe even grabbed yourself a business card to find this site, thank you for your thoughts and ideas. Some of the main critiques and suggestions we were given was on some of the new features including an easier to use interface regarding the new object selection menu and a notification to indicate that an object needs attention whether it’s due to breaking or running out of space. These ideas, along with the other feedback we received, will be used to plan future development efforts or have already been updated in our game.
Speaking of updates, alongside our GDLX showcase, we have updated our demo on Steam so make sure to try building a new museum to have a look at the additions and changes we’ve made in the last few months.
Overall, it was a great event and everyone at Circle Back who attended had a great time. We still have time before release and are hoping to more events in the future so follow our blog if you’re interested and feel free to find us at the next event if you want to have a first-hand experience at any new updates we are planning.
